Professor of Criminology post – Durham University

The School of Applied Social Sciences seeks to appoint a Professor of Criminology who will provide academic and intellectual leadership to an expanding criminological research group within the School. The successful applicant will take a lead in our already strong, vibrant research portfolio, in developing post-graduate programmes, in establishing interdisciplinary links across the University’s research centres, institutes and departments and will provide support and mentoring to early career researchers. This appointment will compliment, and expand, the research portfolio in criminology at Durham. We therefore invite applications from those conducting world-leading and agenda setting work in criminology. The successful applicant will: be a dynamic researcher with a proven track record of attracting research funding and managing research teams; have well-established connections with international criminological research communities; be capable of teaching across a wide range of criminological subjects; and, have a good track record in supervising PhD students. This successful candidate will have outstanding academic and leadership abilities and will play a central role in building a distinctive research identity for criminology at Durham.
