Launch of Irish Penal Reform Trust Report

The launch of a new report by the Irish Penal Reform Trust (IPRT) takes place on: Tuesday 25th May, 2010 at
in the MACRO Community Resource Centre, 1 Green St, Dublin 7
The Report is  entitled: “…It’s like stepping on a landmine”: Reintegration of Prisoners in Ireland”, and is a timely look at issues of reintegration and resettlement of prisoners.
The report discusses the situation in Ireland in the context of increasing prisoner numbers and recent cuts in financial resources to statutory and non-statutory bodies charged with providing assistance to prisoners in preparation for release. Whilst highlighting the positive changes that have taken place in recent years in this area, the report makes a number of key recommendations for further improvement.
